5 Ways to Decorate with Christmas Lights

When it comes to Christmas lights, the obvious place to use them is on the Christmas tree. Have you considered other ways in which to decorate your home with them however? If you are a little bit creative you can use all sorts of led lights and fairy lights to decorate the house at Christmas time and really bring festivity into your home. Small lights are very atmospheric and are one of the best ways and inexpensive ways to decorate your home. It is always a sad day in January when the lights have to come down, but there is always next year to look forward to!

Lighting is an important aspect of any party during the year, but it is definitely the most important aspect of all at a Christmas party. Electric candles are a great touch for the interior of a house during the party because they add a bit of Christmas class without the unnecessary fire hazard. The lighting should be low at a Christmas party, so the tree glows more noticeably and can help light up the emotions of everyone gathered around. Outside Christmas lights will do wonders for welcoming the guests to the party and the party lights on the inside of the house will be able to keep them satisfied once they decide to come inside. Battery lights are perfect for events like these because they allow the host to quickly setup some extra lighting in creative spots that do not need to be plugged into a wall. Since these lights are not used all year round, one does not have to worry about running low on battery life.FireplacesIt is always pretty easy to set the right mood for a Christmas party because everyone is always already in a great mood around this time of year. An open mind and creative thoughts are all that are needed to decorate the next big Christmas party, and everyone is likely to enjoy whatever new lighting setup is created for the party. While outdoor lights are always a first good step, you never want to overdo it and make a house visible from space. Christmas is the easiest theme to create a party for as there are so many standards already instilled in the history of Christmas parties that are likely to be a hit at every single one of them for the rest of time. As long as the right Christmas colours are used and the right amount of decor is placed around the house, any holiday party is a sure bet to be a big hit. In many cases, less is more when it comes to Christmas parties, so try not to get too out of control with the decorations inside. The outside of the house is where the real creative juices can get flowing and create something to share with the entire neighborhood.Framing fireplaces or stoves in the house is another great way to use lights. A fireplace makes the perfect backdrop for strings of lights and one compliments the other beautifully. Because the fireplace is often the centrepiece of the room, having it framed in lights will mean the eye is immediately drawn to it. This is especially worthwhile if you are planning on having a Christmas party as it provides quick and easy decoration in the sitting room where the party is likely to be taking place. To go further with this idea, you can hang stockings up between the lights to add more traditional decoration. The idea of framing an entire house is catching on around the world. Every year more and more families are using fairy lights to light up their entire house. If you like this idea but want to tone it down a bit or indeed save on the electricity bill then simply using lights to frame the garden shed or other out building works well. This provides a lovely view from the windows of the house at night and makes a feature out of something that for the rest of the year is not generally acknowledged. You can make it as garish as you like too because it is for your eyes only!BuildingsThere are some great ways to use Christmas lights to decorate the home at Christmas time. With just a bit of creativity you can cheaply turn your home into a beautiful grotto. Coloured lights such as blue Christmas lights work just as well as plain, and with a range of outdoor Christmas lights available, no part of the home or garden need go without!By this time my husband was playing on the computer, and the kids were having a snowball fight in the yard. I decided it was time for some Egg Nog. When I returned, my husband was examining each of the bulbs. He told me that the circuit was being broken somehow, and that in time he would figure it out. Five minutes later, the lights were aglow! In his hand, he held one little bulb.We returned home and had some lunch while the tree thawed out, and then I gathered the boxes of decorations from the basement. We finally got the tree into the stand, and started stringing the lights. My husband suggested that we test the lights first, but I didnt see the point. I strung all of the lights, plugged them in, and nothing happened. He didnt even bother to say "I told you so"!Fairy lights in trees look good at any time of year, but lighting up both the branches and the trunks is particularly popular at Christmas time. It is vital that outdoor lights only are used for this purpose but you can wrap them around the trunks, create a waterfall effect by hanging them on the outside of the tree or you can even create a starry canopy under which to sit. Battery operated lights can be used for this purpose or traditional varieties too. Lights can also be used to light up statues and flowerbeds or any other part of the garden that you would like to enjoy at night.
